German for nursing professionals facilitated in a structured way

This course helps nursing professionals and assistants working with sick or elderly patients acquire the German skills necessary for professional qualification in Austria. German skills are vitally necessary for nursing professionals – not just because you need them for nostrification of your foreign certificate. You also need German to talk to your patients, who depend on you helping them to the best of your abilities. Learn to write to and speak with colleagues, doctors, patients, and patients’ relatives in German about your profession. This course also prepares you for the nursing examination you need to take in the process of certificate recognition.

Overview of the restorative care German language course

- Implement nursing vocabulary and technical terms, grammar, and complex sentence structures

- Understand the responsibilities of nursing professionals in the Austrian healthcare system

- Use spoken language for psychosocial interactions in situations revolving around health difficulties

- Write a variety of text types and reports

- Learn about taking medical histories, illness, basic and specialist care, handover interviews, and care documentation

- Prepare for the German nursing examination required for healthcare professionals to receive professional recognition

Az iskola leírása

LcL Language Institute Bécs régió szívében található és Ausztria egyik legnépszerűbb nyelviskolája. Az iskola arra specializálódott, hogy Német nyelvet tanítson külföldi diákoknak, mint Ön. Az iskolában nagyon alacsony az osztálylétszám (maximum 8 diák) és minden tanár Német anyanyelvű. Nagyon barátságos tanárai és dolgozói gondját viselik, amíg Bécsben tartózkodik.

Az iskola elhelyezkedése

In one of the most beautiful streets of the 7th district in Vienna.

The top renovated rooms of our old Viennese Biedermeier house from 1695 offer a comfortable and modern atmosphere to help you focus on your learning. Our offices contain five classrooms, each about 10 to 25 square meters. Every classroom is furnished with easy-to-move desks and chairs, as well as a cloakroom. On sunny days, our picturesque courtyard is also available for lessons outside. Our language institute is on the ground floor. The building itself is under monument protection, it is one of the oldest houses of Vienna. Right around the corner from the school, you will find numerous cafés, restaurants and bars as well as museums, theaters and cinemas.

Underground: U3 (Volkstheater or Neubaugasse), starting Autumn 2023: U2 and U3 (Volkstheater or Neubaugasse)
Buses: 48A (St Ulrichs Platz or Kellermanngasse) or 13A (Neubaugasse/Westbahnstraße or Burggasse/Neubaugasse)
Tram: 49 (Stiftgasse or Volkstheater
If you're traveling by car, the Contipark Garage Museumsquartier or the Payuca Garage Kirchberggasse are available for a parking fee.

The stops and parking garages listed above are at most a five-minute walk from our facilities.

"I had a good experience and improved my language skills during my time there."

The location is practical and accessible. The facilities are new and some are still being renovated/improved. Some equipment such as headphones and microphones were not fully set up and were used on the last day of class. The instructor was really good, spoke clearly and explained things well. The setup of the classes was good. Ideally, it would be great to switch up class activities and make them a bit more dynamic so that it’s not as repetitive over time (such as creating dialogues or conversations). The staff is friendly and helpful, and I appreciated that they provided us with water for every class. Overall I had a very good experience. While there are things still being set up or renovated, I think this institute already has great potential for being a good resource for language learning.
